Pickup of IFB articles in other news publications update

Each week, Illinois Farm Bureau shares articles that originate from within the organization with newspapers across the state. Stories are syndicated through a partnership with the Illinois Press Association (IPA), called the Ag News Service, and can be used by IPA member newspapers to supplement news coverage. Distributed content includes pieces from FarmWeek, Partners and IFB leaders, and aims to bolster coverage of ag-focused issues on mainstream channels.

From May 1-31, IFB articles were published in Illinois newspapers 41 times and reached and estimated 8.5 million people. The top feature by potential reach and syndication in May originated in FarmWeek and discussed lessons learned from low water levels along the Mississippi River last fall. Multiple articles distributed through the Ag News Service garnered high audience reach and syndication in May.

  1. “Army corps to implement 'lessons learned' from 2022 low water levels” was picked up by eight newspapers and reached around 1,398,770 people.
  2. “Guebert plants 48th crop, last as IFB president” was picked up by six newspapers and reached around 975,199 people.
  3. “USDA: Large crop estimates to pressure prices” was picked up by five newspapers and reached around 920,002 people.
