IAA Foundation surprises Ag Teacher Grant Recipients
Last week, the IAA Foundation, with assistance from local County Farm Bureaus, FCAE advisors and school administrators, surprised the newest inductees in the Illinois Agricultural Education Teacher Grant Program. Funded by the Illinois Farm Bureau, the program highlights a few of the great new Ag Ed Teachers in Illinois. Watch the teachers’ reactions in this VIDEO.
At the end of their first year in the classroom, Ag Ed Teachers are invited to apply and are asked to outline their short- and long-term goals for their curriculum, FFA programs, and professional growth. The four agriculture teachers accepted into the program this year are:
Dodie Cripe, Bond County Community Unit #2, Greenville, IL
Gwen Heimerdinger, Streator Township High School, Streator, IL
Rachel Probst, Mattoon High School, Mattoon, IL
Elaine Rudolphi, Waterloo High School, Waterloo, IL
The grant amount increases over the course of five years, totaling $10,000 in personal income if they remain active as an agricultural education teacher in the state of Illinois.
Help extend a congratulations to this year’s Agriculture Education Teacher Grant Recipients and consider how you can support your local Ag Ed Teachers.
