This week has been full of preparations – for harvest, the IAA Board meeting this week, and the OMS Advisory Committee meeting this week. I also took a trip up to Champaign last week to attend the Investiture ceremony for Jonathan Coppess as he takes the official helm as the Gardner Chair in Agricultural Policy.
As we look to harvest, I want to remind everyone that this week is National Farm Safety & Health Week – something that should be top of mind for Illinois farmers right now. The theme this year is especially potent: “No One Can Take Your Place”. County Farm Bureaus have access to several resources on our Leaders Portal, and we encourage everyone to take it slow, be aware of the hazards, and most importantly, check in on each other.
