About 20 Illinois Farm Bureau members and staff are in Washington, D.C. this week to advocate for agricultural issues impacting Illinois farmers.
The visit is part of IFB’s Leaders to Washington program, which will include meetings with members of Illinois’ congressional delegation, staff at federal agencies and industry representatives on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Members will engage lawmakers on issues including the farm bill, trade and tariffs, taxes, among other topics.
"Illinois Farm Bureau's members' voices are important during these trips to Washington, D.C.," IFB Director of National Legislation Ryan Whitehouse said. "Members of Congress and the administration need to hear from the people they represent. Their stories are what secure the support when it comes time for a vote."
