From the President:
With five days left until the end of the federal government’s fiscal year, we must keep the pressure up on our elected officials about the importance of passing a Farm Bill in 2023. I sent a letter on July 12 to our Congressional delegation reminding them of our priorities. We continue making our voice heard through several avenues, and talking points are available on our Leaders Portal.
Some of us got some rain last week which gave us a few more days to get ready to roll with harvest. The cooler mornings are here, showing us it’s time. This fall feels a little different, being my last harvest as the President of this great organization. In fact my staff sat me down to make some plans for my final few months, and it is really starting to hit me. I have a bit more time to sum up all my thoughts, but I’m so honored to have been selected to serve you. Harvest time always makes me grateful, and this year it means even more. Stay safe out there.
