August Update: Pickup of IFB articles in other news publications
Each week, Illinois Farm Bureau shares articles that originate from within the organization with newspapers across the state. Stories are syndicated through a partnership with the Illinois Press Association (IPA) and can be used by IPA member newspapers to supplement news coverage. Distributed content includes pieces from FarmWeek, Partners and IFB leaders, and aims to bolster coverage of ag-focused issues on mainstream channels.
From August 1-31, IFB articles were published in Illinois newspapers 53 times and reached an estimated 3.8 million people. The top three features in July originated from FarmWeek:
- “Millennials getting priced out of farmland market” was picked up by 13 newspapers and potentially reached more than 778,000 people.
- “Illinois program opens doors, helps fill need for rural doctors” was picked up by 9 newspapers and potentially reached more than 399,000 people.
- “Extreme rain events could be new norm in Illinois” was picked up by 5 newspapers and potentially reached more than 533,000 people.
