Pickup of IFB articles in other news publications update
Each week, Illinois Farm Bureau shares articles that originate from within the organization with newspapers across the state. Stories are syndicated through a partnership with the Illinois Press Association (IPA), called the Ag News Service, and can be used by IPA member newspapers to supplement news coverage. Distributed content includes pieces from FarmWeek, Partners and IFB leaders, and aims to bolster coverage of ag-focused issues on mainstream channels.
From Aug. 1-31, IFB articles were published in Illinois newspapers and other publications 92 times and reached and estimated 27.6 million people. The top feature by potential reach and syndication in August originated in FarmWeek and discussed emerging issues with red crown rot in Illinois. Multiple articles distributed through the Ag News Service garnered high audience reach and syndication (the same article shared by multiple publications) in August.
- “Red crown rot emerging issue in Illinois” was picked up by 15 newspapers and reached 4.7 million people.
- “Carving a legacy: Butter sculptor Sarah Pratt’s journey from apprenticeship to master” was picked up by 13 newspapers and reached around 4.6 million people.
- “Governor approves Farm to Food Bank program” was picked up by 13 newspapers and reached around 1.6 million people.
