From the President:
At the AFBF Board meeting last week, we covered several important topics. Top of mind for everyone was the void in the House speakership and the further delay of a budget, and thinking through what that means for the Farm Bill.
We heard updates on the federal milk marketing order hearings, which you can read more about in this and other Market Intel pieces. We heard an important presentation on several proposals around farm labor reforms, and will commit several hours during the December AFBF board meeting to further evaluate those and a path forward. Lastly, we discussed the upcoming "New Frontiers" AFBF Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, January 19-24. It was decided that there will not be a virtual option for participation.
We had a bit of rain last week which gave everyone around here a bit of a chance for rest. Please stay vigilant and safe this harvest season!
