From the President:
Illinois Farm Bureau revitalized our Agribusiness Roundtable event, convening 40+ food and agribusiness industry leaders at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis last week. I say revitalized, because we have not held the event since 2019. It was great to bring it back. This event serves as one of the many opportunities we create to talk to industry leaders about timely and important issues.
This year’s event included a presentation titled “Trust in Ag Technology for a Sustainable Future” from Charlie Arnot, CEO of The Center for Food Integrity. He shared the Center’s new findings on how to earn trust between partners in the supply chain as we work towards advancements for the betterment of people, animals, and our planet.
Mr. Arnot also moderated a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring representatives from PepsiCo and Bunge, where they shared insight on their sustainability approaches and how they are engaging with farmers.
Attendees enjoyed inspiring remarks from Jackie Joyner-Kersee about the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Food Agriculture and Nutrition (FAN) Innovation Center at lunch.
Thank you to all of our partners for making it a successful event.
