From the President:
See below for a list of ways IFB has provided value to our members in December. I encourage you to use this as a tool to help recruit and retain members.
IFB held its Annual Meeting in Chicago, which included many traditional elements and some new highlights:
- Delegates debated and approved new policy on a variety of issues, such as CO2 pipelines, climate and renewable energy, as well as livestock, food access and more.
- IFB premiered “Sustaining Our Future: A Farm Family Story,” a documentary highlighting Illinois farmers’ work to protect natural resources. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it at www.youtube.com/ILFarmBureauIFB.
- New this year, the meeting featured a succession planning session, member appreciation reception and concert by Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry.
- IFB also distributed awards, elected new leaders, crowned a Discussion Meet winner and raised money for ag literacy.
- Some of the policy changes adopted at Annual Meeting have advanced to be considered by delegates from across the country Tuesday at the American Farm Bureau Federation convention.
