Illinois Farm Bureau’s first-ever documentary, “Sustaining Our Future: A Farm Family Story,” has racked up more than 20,000 views! In the following update, you’ll learn how IFB plans to keep up the momentum and how you can become part of the process.
For those who are unfamiliar, the hourlong feature follows the conservation efforts of three generations of an Illinois farm family to demonstrate how IFB members are using innovative solutions to the protect the environment. Watch the video on IFB’s YouTube channel here.
Throughout 2023, IFB staff will continue to promote the documentary through a comprehensive campaign. This includes providing promotional materials for CFBs via Leaders’ Portal and working with an outside vendor to share the video with Illinois voters, legislators and farmers via Facebook and video streaming advertisements. We are also running advertisements on FarmWeekNow.com, RFD Radio Network, FarmWeek and Illinois Partners to reach members, and utilizing IFB social media to help spread the word.
The documentary will also be shown on a couple of TV stations around the state. WQAD/Moline ABC featured the documentary on January 15 and will air it again on April 16 at 11 a.m. WTVP/Peoria PBS will show the documentary on February 19 at 6 p.m. and February 22 at 9 p.m.
As the campaign continues to take shape ahead of Earth Day in April, we will continue to find ways to highlight the documentary. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to share the documentary within your network via email, social media, video link, word of mouth, etc.
