IWA Annual Double Crop Forum

Last Monday, the Illinois Wheat Association hosted their Annual Double Crop Forum in Mt. Vernon. Over 100 farmers and agriculture professionals were able to hear from various speakers and panelists from Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky. In the morning session, Dr. Dennis Pennington with Michigan State covered the importance of wheat growing strategies and the success of their Yield Enhancement Program. Another key speaker was Dr. Chad Lee with University of Kentucky educating our group on why wheat is an essential part in your crop rotation.

Most importantly, this was our last event with our Executive Director, Mike Doherty as he moves on to the next chapter of his career. Mike has been a leader with the Illinois Wheat association for the last 5 years and has contributed a lot of his time to make sure this program is successful. Even though we are sad to see Mike go, we are excited and optimistic for the future as Megan Gregg takes over this role. We wish you all the best, Mike!
