March Update: Pickup of IFB articles in other news publications
Each week Illinois Farm Bureau shares articles that originate from within the organization with newspapers across the state. Stories are syndicated through a partnership with the Illinois Press Association (IPA), called the Ag News Service, and can be used by IPA member newspapers to supplement news coverage. Distributed content includes pieces from FarmWeek, Partners and IFB leaders, and aims to bolster coverage of ag-focused issues on mainstream channels.
From March 1-31, IFB articles were published in Illinois newspapers 63 times and reached an estimated 10.2 million people. The top feature by potential reach and syndication in March originated in FarmWeek and discussed rising food costs. Multiple articles distributed through the Ag News Service garnered high audience reach and syndication in March.
- “USDA: Food costs to remain on upward trajectory” was picked up by 14 newspapers and potentially reached 1.98 million people.
- “Meat, dairy demand remains strong amid price volatility” was picked up by four newspapers and potentially reached d1.8 million people.
