  • The Family Farm Preservation Act, a bipartisan measure supported by Illinois Farm Bureau, was introduced in Springfield. The bill addresses the discrepancy in the state estate tax between escalating farm estate valuations and annual farm income. IFB is also analyzing the several thousands of bills in Springfield and taking positions on those that impact the well-being of farmers and their farms.
  • IFB brought together elected officials and more than 400 members at the Governmental Affairs Leadership Conference. County Farm Bureau leaders embraced professional development on key local, state, and national topics. They also engaged their local elected officials at the statewide legislative reception to discuss priority issues.
  • Illinois Farm Families, a coalition involving IFB and other Illinois ag groups, culminated its “We are the 96%” campaign with an ad during the Super Bowl.
  • Nearly 500 members came together for education, networking, and professional development at the Young Leader Conference, showcasing IFB’s longstanding commitment to developing the state’s next generation.
  • IFB launched the “Taking Stalk with Illinois Farm Bureau” podcast. State and national experts join President Brian Duncan and Rita Frazer monthly for in-depth analysis of important ag issues. February’s debut episode discussed Prop 12, and March’s edition will focus on trade.
