OMS Update
GALC attendees had the choice of two breakout sessions featuring members of the Organizational Member Strategy (OMS) Advisory Committee and Illinois Farm Bureau Chief Strategy Officer Mark Gebhards, who is the staff lead on the OMS.
They shared that we’re largely still in the information-gathering phase of the OMS process, with a ton of data collected through a member survey, a county Farm Bureau manager survey, listening sessions at various events throughout the winter and other channels. Thousands of members responded to the member survey, signaling the strength of this organization and the shared interest in contributing to the shape of IFB’s future.
Thank you to every member and county leader for taking the time to think critically about IFB and share what they value in our organization or what they’d like to see change. Now comes the tall task of analyzing all this data and turning it into actionable takeaways. We hope to have some results to share this spring.
Meanwhile, the OMS Advisory Committee has identified three subcommittees — Members, Programs and Engagement, and County Farm Bureaus — to form and to task with creating new opportunities for our members to get involved. These subcommittees will ultimately submit to the IAA Board of Directors a list of recommended pilot projects that county Farm Bureaus could implement around the state.
More information on the OMS was shared in a recent RFD Radio Network segment featuring Gebhards, which can be viewed here. You can also visit www.ilfb.org/ifb-in-action/oms/
