How IFB Served YOU in March

The Duncan Download

  • After Illinois Farm Bureau and other top ag organizations filed comments, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dropped its proposed Scope 3 emissions reporting requirement, which would have imposed undue burdens on Illinois farmers. Nearly 1,200 IFB members communicated with their representatives about the rule.

  • I met one-on-one with legislators on Capitol Hill, advocating on behalf of members for a Prop 12 fix, labor issues, the GREET model and more. I also chaired the ag roundtable and met with state legislators during Ag Legislative Day in Springfield.

  • IFB released the complete docuseries, “Fields Apart: Rooted Together,” which highlights the diversity of ag in the state and connects rural, urban and suburban parts of Illinois.

  • IFB awarded $30,000 to 10 projects in a new grant program that supports rural development efforts. In its pilot year, IFB’s funded programs elevating agritourism, grocery access, health and fitness, ag education and more.
