IAA Foundation to offer truck driver training scholarships

The IAA Foundation is administering a truck driver training scholarship to help offset the cost of commercial truck driver training. The application period opened March 1.

The Illinois Farm Bureau committed to funding a Driving Agriculture Forward Scholarship. This donor agreement will continue for the next five years.

Applicants enrolled or planning to enroll in a commercial driver training program at an Illinois community college may apply. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded every three months and are based on the IFB region where the applicant resides.

All applicants must be Illinois residents and provide enrollment proof during the corresponding award cycle. An application endorsement is required from a farmer, county Farm Bureau leader, agribusiness or food processing business.

“We are pleased to diversify the types of scholarships available through our program,” said Jennifer Smith, IAA Foundation development manager. “We are encouraged by the insightfulness of donors who choose to support all facets of agriculture.”

Eligibility guidelines and an application is available at iaafoundation.org, starting March 1. Click on the student scholarships icon.
