Sustaining Our Future: A Farm Family Story

Farmers throughout Illinois go to great lengths to preserve our soil and protect water quality. In IFB’s first documentary, titled “Sustaining Our Future: A Farm Family Story,” watch how three generations of farmers approach sustainability.

This hourlong video, produced in 2022, follows the Ganschow family in Bureau County to highlight the farmer spirit and collaboration required to achieve the goals of the Nutrient Loss Reduction strategy. To create this documentary, IFB video and environmental teams partnered with farmers, county Farm Bureaus, researchers and other key stakeholders. It required nearly 25 video shoots across Illinois, dozens of interviews, behind-the-scenes recordings and countless hours of recording and editing.
