The IAA Board of Directors has committed $150,000 for the Nutrient Stewardship Grant Program for fiscal year 2021. County Farm Bureaus may apply for a grant by Oct. 30.
The program is meant to support farmers in their efforts to address water quality and soil health issues facing Illinois. Specifically, the program focuses on projects that allow farmer members to lead the direction and outcomes. Illinois Farm Bureau environmental staff will serve as active partners on the projects, and as such, will assist with the subject matter and help guide projects towards meeting our statewide goals.
The online application can be found here. On that site, you can click the “Save” button to have an email sent to you with a link to continue the form at a later time.
Applicants may reach out to Lauren Lurkins, IFB director of Environmental Policy, at firstname.lastname@example.org to brainstorm, discuss and get feedback on project ideas. Funding decisions will be announced in early December.
