Illinois Farm Bureau welcomes the Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement of year-round sales on E15 fuel. The following is a statement from Illinois Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert, Jr.
“This announcement is a win-win for Illinois farmers. We believe year-round sales of E15 will yield significant, measurable and noticeable economic and environmental benefits for rural, suburban and urban residents. Our members produce and deliver corn to 14 ethanol plants in Illinois with a total annual production capacity of 1.875 billion gallons and roughly one in every nine gallons of U.S. ethanol production capacity is in the Land of Lincoln.”
The Illinois Farm Bureau is a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation, a national organization of farmers and ranchers. Founded in 1916, IFB is a non-profit, membership organization directed by farmers who join through their county Farm Bureau. IFB has a total membership of more than 394,742 and a voting membership of 78,999. IFB represents three out of four Illinois farmers.
